Dr. John Ardill faithfully serves the eye care needs of East Texas through our Jacksonville office. As a therapeutic optometrist, he provides comprehensive medical and routine eye exams. He enjoys fitting contact lenses and provides no-cost eye exams for the underserved community through Bethesda Clinic in Tyler.
After receiving a bachelor’s degree in biology from Houghton College, Dr. Ardill earned his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University Of Houston College Of Optometry in 1981.
He began his career with Permanente Medical Association of Texas in Dallas where he went on to become the lead optometrist for the region. In 1995 Dr. Ardill and his family moved to East Texas to join Ophthalmology Associates of East Texas in Jacksonville. He continued practicing in that location with DeHaven Eye Clinic and later The Eye Center before joining Gold Eye Clinic.
Dr. Ardill is a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association Optometry section.
In his spare time, he and his wife Cindy enjoy spending time with the families of their two children which includes four grandchildren. He also enjoys cycling, swimming, hiking and singing in the choir.
