Dr. Mark Gold grew up in Palestine and is now back in town after completing his medical training.
Dr. Mark went to Texas A&M University for his undergraduate degree where he served as the student body president during his senior year. He then went to medical school at the University of Texas in Houston where he received awards for excellence in teaching and service. Finally, he completed his ophthalmology residency training at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple, TX.
Dr. Gold now serves as a comprehensive ophthalmologist. He sees patients of all ages for both clinical and surgical evaluations. He offers a wide range of surgeries including LASIK, cataract surgery, basic eyelid procedures, and glaucoma surgery.
Dr. Mark also has a heart for international medical missions. Starting in 8th grade, he started going on annual mission trips with his dad (Dr. Daniel Gold) to assist in cataract surgeries all over the world. Seeing faith and ophthalmology used together to impact people inspired Dr. Mark to pursue this field as his personal career, and now he looks forward to continuing the missional aspect of ophthalmology. He has most recently been to Haiti and Peru on mission trips as an eye surgeon.
