Dr. Tiffany Risner grew up in Bakersfield, California. She completed her undergraduate degree at UC Santa Barbara and then graduated from The New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. While in school, she served in leadership in multiple organizations, including Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH), where she went on her first eye care mission trip to the Dominican Republic.
Dr. Risner has been extensively trained in managing ocular disease, including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. She is skilled in ocular surgery co-management as well and has spent the majority of her career working alongside ophthalmologists in private practice. In addition, Dr. Risner enjoys providing comprehensive eye exams for all ages. She had several unique opportunities to train in pediatric specialty clinics including Tufts Medical Center and Perkins School for the Blind, and has participated in many mobile clinics providing free exams and glasses to elementary schools.
She is thrilled to be living in Texas and to provide excellent care to the patients of Gold Eye Clinic. As in the past, she hopes to continue to volunteer both in the local community and internationally via mission trips. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors with her dog Riley, being active in her church, playing tennis, and is an avid reader.
