Dr. Jacquelyn Rubalcava (Dr. Jackie) was born and raised in Palestine, Texas. After graduating from Palestine High School, she attended Texas A&M University, where she earned a degree in Biology and graduated magna cum laude .
Driven by a passion for eye care and helping others, she continued her education at the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry (UIWRSO), where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree with cum laude honors. While at UIWRSO, Dr. Jackie served as class president, worked as a teaching assistant, and was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. She also embraced opportunities to serve, participating in mission trips to both the Texas Rio Grande Valley and Guatemala to provide essential eye care to underserved communities.
During her final year of training, Dr. Jackie completed clinical rotations in a variety of specialty clinics at UIWRSO in San Antonio, including vision therapy, contact lenses, ocular disease, and low vision care. Her clinical training also included a community-based clinic in Fort Worth and a private practice in Longview. She is well-trained in the diagnosis and management of a range of eye conditions, including dry eye syndrome, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma.
After completing her education, Dr. Jackie felt a strong calling to return home. She’s proud to be part of the Gold Eye Clinic family and grateful for the opportunity to provide comprehensive, personalized eye care to patients in Palestine, Jacksonville, Fairfield, and the surrounding communities. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Jackie is passionate about making every patient feel comfortable and understood. In her free time, Dr. Jackie enjoys spending quality time with her family and her cat, Milo. She loves reading, traveling, and exploring new cultures.
He and his wife Valerie have three children, love to spend time outdoors, and staying active in church. As an outdoorsman, Dr. Davis enjoys helping patients find precision optical solutions to maximize their vision when it comes to viewing God’s creation in nature, whether that be looking through a scope, on the water, or on a hike.
