Cataracts occur when the natural crystalline lens or focusing lens behind the pupil begins to become cloudy and dense, which stops light from entering the retina. Usually, when you’re in your 40s or 50s, you may notice your vision is just not as clear as it used to be. It may be most noticeable when doing daily activities, like using the computer or driving at night.

Glaucoma is a serious disease that, if not managed properly, can lead to permanent vision loss and blindness. People with glaucoma experience high pressure within the eye due to irregular fluid flow. In the early stages there are virtually no symptoms in people with glaucoma. That’s why a yearly eye exam is crucial to detecting it. While glaucoma cannot be cured, it can be treated.
At Gold Eye Clinic, we work diligently to manage glaucoma with drops, without requiring further treatment. However, in those patients who are not controlled with drops alone, we do offer laser treatments (SLT) and surgical options (Xen Gel Stent, Ahmed Tube Shunt) to help lower pressure. We also have minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) options that certain patients can use at the time of cataract surgery to help lower eye pressure. Your vision is important to us and we work hard to help protect it!
We offer various eyelid procedures to help fix droopy eyelids (blepharoplasty), in-turning eyelids (lateral tarsal strip), and to remove eyelid lesions, cysts, or masses. We take great pride in serving our patients and hope to make your surgery experience the best it can possibly be.
Corneal cross-linking is a minimally invasive medical procedure designed to strengthen the cornea, the clear, dome-shaped surface of the eye. It is primarily used to treat keratoconus, a progressive condition where the cornea thins and bulges outward, leading to distorted vision. The procedure involves applying riboflavin (vitamin B2) eye drops to the cornea and activating them with ultraviolet (UV) light. This process creates new collagen bonds, enhancing the cornea's structural integrity and preventing further weakening or deformation. Corneal cross-linking can stabilize vision and reduce the need for more invasive interventions, such as corneal transplants, in the future.
An outpatient surgical procedure that reshapes the cornea to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contacts. LASIK is by far the most popular procedure done at Gold Eye Clinic.
